$9m CHAMPIONS RACEDAY: ELLERSLIE

Lunch & Reserved Glass Front Trackside Table Seating: Silks Restaurant - Auckland Racing Club
Cahmpions Day is the best raceday run in New Zealand, featuring the very best horses from New Zealand. It features $9m worth of prizemoney and 4 Group 1 races including the New Zealand Derby. Ellerslie is the premier racetrack in New Zealand, with a rich history. Our group will dine in trackside glass side teared seating in the Silks Restaurant, whilst enjoy a signature buffet luncheon. The raceday features two stakes races, and the meeting regularly unearths future Group 1 stars heading into the rich Summer and Autumn carnivals.

cambridge stud

Stud Tour & Stallion Parade
Cambridge Stud was established in 1975 by Sir Patrick & Lady Hogan. The following year it became home to Sir Tristram who went on to become the multiple champion sire of Australasia. Sir Tristam died in 1997. Zabeel took over his mantle, also standing at Cambridge Stud before his death in 2015. Cambridge Stud changed hands in 2017 with Sir Brendan & Lady Jo Lindsay purchasing Cambridge. Under the management of Henry Plumptre, Cambridge has since been transformed to include a Heritage Centre which pays homage to the properties long history. 

WINDSOR PARK stud

Stud Tour & Stallion Parade
Windsor Park Stud is owned by Nelson & Sue Schick and their son Rodney, who manages the day to day operation of the farm. In 1998 and 2001 Windsor Park was honoured for its achievements by the New Zealand breeding industry with the New Zealand Breeder of the Year award. The stud has proven record of producing elite Group 1 winners around the globe, both via its stallions and yearlings. Might and Power, So You Think and Ka Ying Rising all had their start at Windsor Park. 

WAIKATO stud

Stud Tour & Stallion Parade
Owned and operated by the Chittick family, Waikato Stud is a world renowned thoroughbred nursery, established more than 40 year ago. The Waikato Stud properties comprise of more than 1200 acres of premium grade land, are dedicated purely to the breeding, rearing and preparation of young horses. Waikato Stud is designed to cater for every stage of the thoroughbreds life. Waikato has been home to a host of champion sires headed by Savabeel, O'Reilly and Centaine.

WESTBURY stud

Stud Tour & Stallion Parade
Now owned by Australian businessman Gerry Harvey, Westbury Stud is located just 30 minutes from the CBD of Auckland city and within 10 minutes of New Zealand Bloodstock's Karaka sales complex. Situated on 212 acres of prime Karaka farmland, Westbury is committed to producing superior racehorses. Westbury is headed by highly experienced and decorated horseman Russell Warwick, a pupil of Sir Patrick Hogan.

RICH HILL stud

Stud Tour & Stallion Parade
Rich Hill Stud was founded in 1994 and has become a show piece property of more than 320 acres. The farm is run by John Thompson, whose father Colin Thompson helped establish the property together with Bill Galbraith QC and Justice Bill Wilson. Rich Hill has become a leading producer of yearlings, whilst it has stood champion sires Pentire and Proisir.

Gourmet Dinner - Auckland (2 courses)
Situated steps away from our hotel, the modern Onslow is situated in one of the most historic building in Auckland. Created by top New Zealand chef Josh Emett, Onslow is described as sophisticated yet relaxed.

Gourmet Lunch - Waiheke Island (2 courses)
Mudbrick Winery is a beautiful cellar door and restaurant on Waiheke Island just 35 minutes by ferry from downtown Auckland. Mudbrick has a wonderful ambience, and has been described as "one of the most romantic placed on earth". The Mudbrick chefs have won international acclaim showcasing the next NZ ingredients.

CASITA MIRO VINEYARD

Wine Tasting - Waiheke Island
Casita Miro Vineyard is in the Onetangi wine-growing region and comprises a 4.2 hectare vineyard and the outstanding Tapas restaurant called Casita Miro. Miro is the closest vineyard to Onetangi Beach, a summer playground for holiday makers. Views from the vineyard are spectacular, looking out over the vines, the village and the sea. ​

STONEYRIDGE VINEYARD

Wine Tasting - Waiheke Island
Stonyridge Vineyard is the ongoing dream of owner Stephen White. In 1981 Stephen returned to New Zealand after sailing a Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race, skippering yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, and working at wineries in France, California and Italy. It was during this 3-year adventure that Stephen came to love the culture and lifestyle of the Mediterranean and the great red wines of France, Tuscany and California.

KARAKA SALES COMPLEX

Private Tour & Lunch - New Zealand Bloodstock
On the final day of our tour and our last stop before departure, the group will enjoy a private tour of the Karaka Sales complex. Arguably the finest sales complex in the world, Karaka is now well complimented by its own onsite hotel and restaurant. The group will also enjoy lunch on site, before departing for the airport.

HERITAGE CENTRE - CAMBRIDGE STUD

Private Tour 
One of the finest thoroughbred museums in the Southern Hemisphere, the Cambridge Stud Heritage Centre pays a touching tribute to the late Sir Patrick Hogan, along with Sir Tristram and Zabeel. Our group will enjoy a leisurely afternoon of taking in this rich history which was developed by Sir Brendan and Lady Jo Lindsay, as part of the farms re-development.

IGUANA BAR & BISTRO

Dinner - Hamilton (2 courses)
Hamilton is fast becoming a dinning and bar hub. Iguana is one of the cities long established favourites. Located a short stroll from the Novotel on Victoria Street. Established in 1996, Iguana boasts original timber flooring, fireplace and candlelit ambience.

CAFE ALMA

Dinner - Hamilton (2 courses)
After a day exploring the Waikato, the group will enjoy a final night dinner in house at the Novotel at Cafe Alma. Overlooking the mighty Waikato River, Cafe Alma is a terrific venue on the final night of the tour.

REDOUBT BAR & BISTRO

Lunch - Matamata (1 course)
One of the most popular casual dining and drinking options in Matamata, our group will enjoy a light lunch at Redoubt. Located in the heart of Matamata, it also gives guests a chance to stroll around the character filled streets, and take in the sporting memorabilia on the walls of this cool venue.
